Book release: Natural Resource conflicts and Sustainable Development

Aktivitet

In this volume, the varying driving forces behind natural resource conflicts at different levels and scales are critically analyzed, and approaches to facilitate and enforce mediation, transformation and collaboration at these levels and scales are presented and discussed.

Approaches that enhance and enforce collaboration for sustainable development at global, regional, national and local levels will be discussed, and sustainable pathways are suggested.

This book evolved from the ongoing work on the master course on Environmental conflicts in Global studies. Chapter authors are lecturers in this course and other professionals working in natural resource management. A range of examples on global environmental resource conflicts is presented, including water resources, fisheries, forests, human-wildlife conflicts, food production, urban environments and the consequences of climate change. The book will be a valuable text for advanced students of natural resource management, development studies and peace and conflict management.

The book will also be of interest to practitioners in the field of natural resource management.

Editors Gunilla Almered Olsson, professor in Human Ecology at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg, and Pernille Gooch, senior lecturer in Human Ecology, Lund University, will present the book. As will researchers from the School of Global Studies.
The book is published by Earthscan, Routledge.

A discount on the book will be given during the event.
