På årets Jörgen Westerståhl Lecture föreläser Donatella Della Porta på temat "Populist movements and counter-movements in the Great Recession". Föreläsningen hålls på engelska.

On December 12, Professor Donatella Della Porta visits our department to give the 2018 Jörgen Westerståhl Lecture. The topic of her Lecture will be "Populist movements and counter-movements in the Great Recession". The Lecture will be given 1:15-3:00 PM in Dragonen.

Donatella Della Porta is professor of political science and Dean of the Institute for Humanities and the Social Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence. Her research is mainly focused on social movements, political participation and democratization. Between 2011 and 2016 Professor Della Porta headed a comparative project, "Mobilizing for Democracy", comparing civil society participation in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. The program was funded by an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant. She has received three honorary doctorates (Bucharest, Lausanne and Gothenburg) and has been awarded the Matttei Dogan Prize for distinguished achievements in political sociology.

With some 25,000 citations and a H-index of 70 generated by her 85 books, more than 130 journal articles and an equal number of chapters in edited volumes, Donatella Della Porta is an international leading scholar in the research fields of social movements, terrorism, corruption and protest politics.
