Qualitative Research Methods

Course description

The course consists of both core and elective parts, as well as a series of workshops. In a first step, the course addresses general methodological issues such as traditions in qualitative research, research design and sampling as well as standards concerning quality, ethics and integrity. In a second step, the student is offered a number of, and must select two, specialisation modules with different focus areas related to qualitative research methods. The course concludes with a conference where the students present papers and provide feedback on other students’ work. A parallel series of workshops give an introduction to and training in the use of computer-supported software for analysis of qualitative data.
