  • Beyond opposing water realities

    [17 Feb 2020] Malene K Brandshaug¿s PhD thesis ¿Liquid landscapes: Human-water interactions and water scarcity in Yanque, Peru¿ was successfully defended at the School of Global Studies on 7 February 2020. The thesis shows how Yanqueños creatively combine divergent water management practices, use distinct entangled irrigation infrastructures, and make relevant multiple versions of water to deal with water scarcity.

  • The majority consider themselves more environmentally friendly than others

    [7 Jan 2020] Research from the University of Gothenburg shows that we tend to overestimate our personal environmental commitment. In a study with participants from Sweden, the United States, England, and India, most participants were convinced that they acted more environmentally friendly than the average person.

  • From MaPS straight to a PhD position

    [17 Dec 2019] ¿or¿e Milosav is a former student at the Master´s Programme in Political Science (MaPS). A couple of days after defending his Master thesis he was accepted for a PhD position in Ireland. Now he is investigating the link between politics and emigration.
