QoG lunch seminar with Natali Phalén

Research profile seminar

The QoG Institute regularly organizes seminars related to research on Quality of Government. The seminars address the theoretical and empirical problem of how political institutions of high quality can be created and maintained as well as the effects of Quality of Government on a number of policy areas, such as health, the environment, social policy, and poverty.

Speakers are invited from the international research community and experts from NGOs and other organizations to the lunch seminars. The seminars last for one hour and include a short presentation by the speaker (30-35 min) followed by a joint discussion about the topic.

If nothing else is indicated, the seminars are held in English.

Title of seminar:
"Promoting ethics through self-regulation - how the Swedish Anti-Corruption Institute work against corruption"

The Swedish Anti-corruption Institute (IMM) is a non-profit organization founded in 1923. The Institute´s mission is to promote ethical decision processes within business as well as within the rest of the community and to prevent the use of bribes and other types of corruption as a means for affecting decision processes. During the session, IMM´s Secretary-General will present the working methods of the Institute and how the Institute uses self-regulation as a tool for promoting good business practice, as well as discuss main challenges for the business sector in the field of anti-corruption work.
